We have been trying to start a family since August 2004; trying the traditional and fun ways, the science experiments involving chemistry and charts, the Chinese way full of needles and Chi, then back to fun. Through grief, therapy, hikes and bikes we arrived- choosing adoption.
We chose domestic adoption, and an agency that felt right with a emphasis on open adoption. We're hoping for a Grommet just a few days or weeks old and a healthy relationship with the birthparents, so our Munch-kin knows that love was at the root of unanswered questions.
We completed our home-study and were approved in August of 2007. We then wrote what were the most intimate, difficult and joyful letters to our child's Birthparents and shared even more with a video production.
Time passes.
We've been waiting and sleeping in... waiting and enjoying being a couple... waiting and preparing for the day we will be a family.
